ProSomnus Medical Director – Announcement
On May 24, 2018, The Journal For Sleep Specialists announced the appointment of Dr. Sall as ProSomnus medical director.
ProSomnus is a leading manufacturer of oral appliances. Oral appliances are used for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). The company is based in Pleasanton, CA.
Dr. Sall’s new position fits nicely with his sleep medicine expertise and conservative treatment philosophy. Also, he has extensive experience with a wide variety of competing oral appliance designs. In addition to his broad experience with oral appliances, Dr. Sall’s clinical practice includes surgery, sleep testing, and CPAP. Consequently, this brings ProSomnus a medical director with a unique clinical perspective.
Practice Development & Medical Director
In addition to the new position of medical director, Dr. Sall plans to expand outreach to patients with new services. These services include affordable online consultations (coming soon) as well as home sleep testing.
Oral Appliances Replace CPAP For Many
For almost forty years, many patients with mild-moderate OSA have received treatment with CPAP devices. CPAP is a continuous positive airway pressure device. CPAP has been considered the most effective treatment option. But unfortunately, CPAP devices are difficult to use and maintain. That’s why recent advances in oral appliance devices (like the ones developed by ProSomnus) may work better than CPAP for many patients. Oral appliances offer many practical advantages such as:
- Ease of use and maintenance
- Pocket-size portability
- Comfort
- Patient acceptance and higher compliance rates
